DIY Bird Watching Binoculars

There is something about toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls that kids can’t get enough of. Am I right?

It always feels like my son hits the jackpot when I give him a finished roll…

Because let’s be honest, kids are seriously the OG recyclers when it comes to reusing cardboard boxes, toilet paper rolls and more. They can come up with the most creative and amazing projects!

But after reading this blog post - this time, YOU can be the one sharing a cool way to reuse something you already have in your home (and you were most likely going to get rid of).

In honor of podcast “Episode 7- Robins” launching this week, let’s make some toilet paper roll binoculars! Let your child(ren) design them how they want to with markers, stickers, construction paper and more. They can be as creative and as silly as they want!

Then use them to search for birds (aka robins) outside your window or while on a nature walk.

Here’s how to do it:

Make sure to listen to our Episode 7- Robins while making this simple craft or exploring with your finished product. Make sure to tag my on Instagram at @hearthemroarpod of your kiddo(s) and their binoculars!
