5 Super Simple Earth Day Activities

Earth Day is this Saturday, April 22nd. And if you are like me, you probably haven’t given it much thought unfortunately!

So I rounded up 5 super simple activities that you can put together in no time. You most likely have everything you need already in your home - that’s the best part. Plus your kids will have a blast and you can feel connected learning together in a play-based way.

Here are my top 5 super simple Earth Day activities that you can pull together before Saturday:

Q-Tip Dot Art of the Earth by Differentiated Kindergarten

This is a free printable that is great to work on fine motor skills while learning about the world, the colors you would see to differentiate land vs sea, and the different continents.

Earth Day Tracing Cards by Mornings Together

Another free printable featuring Earth Day themed objects. Simply print off the page to work on writing skills, fine motor tracing, letter recognition + more.

Earth Day Invitation to Play by Stay at Home Educator

Grab some blue and green Play-Doh, tree/animal figurines, rocks, sticks and other nature items to invite your children to create their own landscapes and parts of the world! What amazing conversations can be had while creating, incorporating handwork and utilizing our senses.

Nature Walk Scavenger Hunt by Nifty Mom

I LOVE this idea of pasting your scavenger hunt list directly onto a bag. So simple but so clever. Going on a hike with kids always sounds fun - but often times your kids will enjoy it more when they are “hiking with a purpose”. Scavenger hunts and geocaching are great ways to do this.

Baking Soda Volcano by Teach Beside Me

You can skip over the DIY clay part of this experiment and do it using just a beaker or tall glass. This simple experiment is always a hit with my kids! Best yet? You most likely have the few ingredients in your kitchen cabinets.

Happy Earth day, friends! Make sure to tag me on Instagram at @hearthemroarpod with pictures of you and your kiddos participating in one (or more) of these 5 activities.
